teen therapy

the teen experience

The teenage years are a unique and confusing time. Teens often feel misunderstood and are not always comfortable expressing themselves to their parents. Having a space where their feelings are validated can help them understand themselves, and their emotions, which in turn empowers them to thrive during such a crucial stage.

dear teens

Therapy for teens is often beneficial for those seeking a deeper level of validation and understanding. The awareness that something doesn’t feel quite right and taking the initiative to look for support is an mature step to take, and one that can help you hone valuable life skills. I feel finding yourself and developing some independence is crucial as a teen, and while your parents’ permission is needed to begin therapy, we will create a therapeutic space in which we will work together to tackle issues with no additional outside pressures. If you currently deal with or may develop:

I can help you develop mechanisms to cope with the confusion, stress, and anxiousness that is so prevalent during this stage of life. You are not alone in how you are feeling. My only aim is to show you that you are worthy of being heard and have a voice.

Dear parents,

Parents: I believe it is important that some things shared in therapy are kept confidential for your teen’s benefit. Allowing your teen to have privacy in therapy will give them a space to grow by developing independence, which can help them thrive outside of therapy as well. With that said, I promise to always be open and honest with you when it comes to anything concerning your teen’s safety, as their physical, mental, and emotional health is my top priority. We will work together to discover the best path for empowering your teen to thrive!
