couples therapy
Fostering Healthy Relationships
Problems in a relationship typically stem from patterns that we learned from our upbringing. If you and your partner consistently find yourself wrapped up in the same arguments again and again, couples therapy might be right for you!
my method
Relationships are a major part of our lives. When our relationships are in turmoil, it can impact all areas of our lives. I believe the underlying reason that we have issues in our relationships is relational patterns that we have learned mostly from our caregivers, but also from our past romantic relationships. Everyone has seen a different example of what a relationship should look like and each person follows the pattern that was shown to them.
Fostering Healthy Relationships
My job as a therapist is to watch your interactions and track the patterns that are keeping you in the same negative loop. Couples therapy is not about who is right and who is wrong. It is about changing your perspective of the problem, each person acknowledging their part in the problem, and each partner making a change. The reward for doing the hard work in therapy is a strong bond, a robust sex life, and a secure connection that you can count on through all of the difficulties that life throws your way. I acknowledge that taking the step to begin couples therapy can be difficult and scary.
